Discover Roman heritage at the National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon - once home to one of only three permanent Roman legionary fortresses in Britain. Here you'll journey back nearly 2,000 years to when Wales was under Roman rule. See ancient artefacts, reconstructed barracks, and a Roman bathhouses.

We then drive through Usk, a historic market town known for its medieval past and floral displays. In Monmouth, we enjoy a quaint lunch stop and admire the unique Monnow Bridge.

After lunch, explore the stunning Tintern Abbey, a 12th-century ruin in the Wye Valley. Its towering arches and Gothic windows create a breathtaking photographic scene, rich in history and inspiration.

We end the day at the Grade 1 listed, Newport Transporter Bridge, a remarkable feat of engineering spanning the River Usk.
